Student athletic physicals have traditionally been scheduled in late summer, just before the start
of practice. This year, I strongly encourage all students to complete their physicals in June or July. Having an early physical will allow time to address any problems before practice begins.

Athletic physicals and vaccinations cannot be scheduled during Hettinger Clinic’s Night Clinic hours or Saturday Clinic hours.
The fee is $25 for an athletic physical. A physical examination must be completed to be valid for participation in school sponsored sporting events. Athletic physicals are limited to issues
concerning ability to play sports, additional medical concerns or lab and radiology testing will be addressed through a separate office visit. Please pay for the athletic physical at the time of service. Also, remember to bring your parental or guardian signed athletic form with you to your appointment.
Recommended vaccinations in the teen years include:
• Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) Vaccine;
• Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV4) 11-12 years of age and a booster at 16;
• Influenza yearly;
• Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine (three doses); and
• Hepatitis A (HepA) Vaccine Series (unless already completed).
A parent must be present to sign the vaccination form.

Dr. Josh Ranum, Internal Medicine Physician will join the practice this summer. Dr. Carrie Ranum,Pediatric Physician, will be available for the month of July for athletic physicals and vaccinations.
