West River Ambulance Receives Trauma Foundation Grant

The Board of Directors of the North Dakota Trauma Foundation awarded $652.60 to West River Ambulance in Hettinger. The grant funds assisted in the purchase of Stop the Bleed kits and an EZ IO drill.

Stop the Bleed kits are vital tools in the hands of trained people to help an injured person lose blood. Living in rural North Dakota, time is of the essence to address the loss of blood. Contact West River Ambulance if interested in a Stop the Bleed course at 701-567-6209.

An EZ IO drill is used in the hands of trained emergency medical service people to aid in gaining access to life-saving medication administration during an emergency.

"Thank you, ND Trauma Foundation, for assisting West River Ambulance in purchasing this important trauma equipment for our crew and our communities," comments Darrell West, Paramedic and West River Ambulance Manager.
