Foundation Raises $1,005 for West River’s Lemmon Clinic!

Armed with 8 homemade pies from former Lemmon and now Hettinger resident and baker extraordinaire, Sylvia Engle, the Foundation at West River Health Services raised $1,005 for their Lemmon Clinic – at the Annual KBJM Farm & Home Show at the Beeler Center in Lemmon on Friday, March 10th. Although it was a little snowy for some, the show was quite well attended by area ranchers, farmers, city dwellers, businesses, etc.

By giving $10 or more toward the WRHS Lemmon Clinic, attendees were placed into a drawing for one of the tasty banana cream, apple, pumpkin, blueberry or lemon pies. Of course we had lemon pies in Lemmon! In addition to the homemade pies, we gave away MRI glass coffee mugs, WRHS lawn chairs and Partners In Health beanie hats – every hour on the hour! We even had drawings for the kids (for free), including a telescope science kit, a Frozen gift basket, and 8 balloons!

In all, we received 34 gifts totaling $1,005! Chuck and Kerry Christman gave the largest gift of the day at $250, followed by Jerry Kling and yours truly at $100.  We also received three $50 gifts! The WRHS Lemmon Clinic might see improvements soon, as a number of their employees recently joined the Foundation with bi-monthly pledge gifts as well. For those of you who didn’t know it, our WRHS Lemmon Clinic is our 2nd most visited clinic among our 7 area clinics, averaging nearly 800 patients per month!

As most of you know, we recently held a community meeting in Lemmon to receive feedback on the community’s thoughts regarding their future healthcare. We were pleasantly surprised at the terrific turnout, as well as the informative feedback. One thing is for certain -- no matter where the WRHS Lemmon Clinic is located, you’ll be sure to receive top-notch healthcare from our top-shelf physicians, nurses and staff. After all, you, your family and friends deserve top quality healthcare “close to home.”

Special thanks to Grant Schweitzer and Kathy Hess at KBJM for hosting another terrific show. We really appreciate the chance to visit with so many people from the surrounding Lemmon area. Also, special thanks to Sylvia Engle for her amazing pies. Our presence in Lemmon wouldn’t be the same without your tasty morsels.

Many area people currently participate with our Foundation via Memorial gifts “In Honor” or “In Memory” of their loved ones. Onward!
