WOW! Lemmon Area Really Supports KBJM Farm & Home Show!

No surprise here! The Lemmon area community once again came out in spades for the Annual KBJM Farm & Home Show this past Friday, March 9th, at the Beeler Center. It certainly didn’t that the weather was outstanding either. We, at West River Health Services Foundation, sure appreciated the sensational crowd engagement – and the amazing new floor at the Beeler Center! Lemmon is certainly a community on the move! With the possibility of a WRHS Clinic in downtown Lemmon, lots of people were checking out the proposed layout poster drawing at our booth. And we had quite a few positive conversations as well.

With eight of Sylvia Engle’s awesome homemade pies on hand for a drawing -- if people gave $10 or more to the Foundation for future local healthcare improvements – there was no stopping this crowd! We raised $1,000 for various areas throughout West River Health Services, including $300 for Partners In Health Club; $250 for MRI Scanner Project; $200 for Endowment Fund; $170 for WRHS Lemmon Clinic; $70 for Scholarship; and $10 for Ambulance. Thank you Lemmon area for every gift.

Our largest gift of the day ($250) came from Wayne Kling. We also received $100 gifts from Bill Hourigan, Jerry Kling and Kerry Dangerud. Thank you to all who participated with a gift, no matter the amount. The lucky pie drawing winners were the four previous mentioned donors, plus Becky Bierman, Lesley Kling, Phyllis Pearson and Willard Barnes.

We also had Easter Basket drawings for the kids, and numerous Disney balloons to hand out to those that stayed around a while. Plus we had a few general adult drawings for duffle bags and lawn chairs.

Thank you KBJM and your crew for hosting this annual event. Special thanks to the Beeler Center’s custodian, who is always ready to lend a helping hand to the patrons (and put our huge West River Health Services banner up on the wall). And thank you Lemmon area for stopping by our booth for a visit. We certainly got the impression that most of the Lemmon area would like to see a WRHS Clinic downtown. We’ll have more to share with all of you on this idea in the coming few months. Until then, onward!
