The West River Health Services Foundation’s “Partners In Health Club” recently distributed $50,302 for needed equipment at West River Health Services. This is the all-time highest distribution in the Club’s 16 year history! Special thanks to the 138 members of Partners In Health Club, whose gifts of $100 to $5,000 make a huge impact on our state-of-the-art delivery of top-notch healthcare “close to home.”

Partners In Health Club began in 2002 as a WRHS Foundation membership club. It was and still is, a way to help finance needed healthcare equipment and technology within a year’s time. There are $100 (bronze), $250 (silver), and $500+ (gold) membership levels. Over the last 16 years, $502,595 worth of healthcare equipment has been purchased for various areas throughout West River Health Services and Western Horizons Living Centers.

This year’s distributions included $8,715 for OB with a Bili Blanket and Vital Signs Station; $8,500 for Respiratory Therapy with an improved BiPap System; $8,430 for Med/Surg with a Vital Signs Station, Bariatric Wheelchair and Recliner, IV Poles and Bedside Tables; $4,550 for a Healthy Vending Machine; $4,150 for Radiology for a Radiation Shield, Lead Apron, Patient Lockers and an Ultrasound Chair; $3,760 for our Ambulance Squad to update all of their ALS Supplies; $2,322 for Physical Therapy with a Staircase Island; and $8,875 to five of our area clinics with Defibrillators, Scales, Otoscope Sets, OB Doppler, Pulse Oximeters, Procedure Lamps Ophthalmoscope and other needed equipment. We also assisted our Visiting Nurse, OR, Cardiac Rehab and our Nurses Station with smaller needed equipment.

All of these funded projects are being purchased immediately through our Purchasing Department, so our patients can experience the latest state-of-the-art equipment being utilized by top-notch healthcare staff. In the end, it is this commitment to improving our local healthcare, that makes our patients feel better faster.
