West River Regional Medical Center Named Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for the Second Year

NRHAjimawardpicturecolorFor a second year in a row, the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) named West River Regional Medical Center as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital (CAH) out of 1,332 CAHs throughout the United States. Jim Long, CEO accepted the honor for West River Regional Medical Center at an awards ceremony held this past week at the NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in Kansas City.

The Top 20 Critical Access Hospital “winners” are those hospitals who have achieved success in the overall performance based on a composite rating of all ten of iVantage’ indicators of strength: including competitive strength, competitive intensity, market size and growth, population risk, cost, charge, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, and financial stability. This ranking places West River Regional Medical Center in the top 1.5 percent of CAHs in the nation.

“Board members and administration are proud of the efforts of its physicians and staff who have contributed to our hospital achieving this designation for the second year in a row,” states Jim Long, CEO. “Our results as a top 20 Critical Access Hospital means our community can count on us to deliver the services they need now and in the future.”

In September Jim Long, CEO was named as one of 50 Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know in 2015 by Becker's Hospital Review and West River Regional Medical Center was highlighted in Becker’s Hospital Review as a subgroup of 50 Critical Access Hospital to Know in 2015.
