COVID-19 Vaccine

There have been some questions raised on if WRHS will be vaccinating the public. Currently, the answer is no. The North Dakota Department of Health would like one entity to perform vaccinations to avoid duplication of efforts and confusion of doses allocated. Per the North Dakota, pandemic plan local public health units are taxed with the responsibility of vaccination. The local public health units will be using special software called PrepMod to assist in mass vaccination clinics. Patients will need to register via PrepMod to receive the vaccine at https://vaccinereg.health.nd.gov/ when the time comes. Currently, no public events are being held just specific tier groups, which do not include the general public. Public Health will also be putting out public service announcements to inform the public along with posts on the Southwest District Health Unit Facebook page, radio announcements, and flyers of when, where, and who can receive the vaccine. Patients should not call the public health unit to make an appointment. They will have mass vaccination clinics similar to the mass testing events.

The NDDoH will be developing multi-week allocations and distribute them in the near future. North Dakota is receiving less than 10,000 doses per week. It will likely take 4-6 weeks to vaccinate just the 75 and older population. They are anticipating starting the 75 and above age group within the next 2-4 weeks.
