New Patient Portal Called MyChart
On May 1, all West River Health Services (WRHS) facilities and services will convert to a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, called Epic. Epic is an all-inclusive system designed to put all of the necessary information at your clinician's fingertips so that they can spend more time focused on you rather than their computer screen. Today WRHS utilizes two different EHR systems, and we still document on paper in various departments. The change will consolidate all of the data that goes into your care so that our caregiver teams do not have to search between systems to make timely decisions in your diagnosis.
Here are a few things you need to know as we transition to Epic from our current systems:
- It might take longer at your appointment as we learn our new system.
Please be patient with us as we are learning how to use Epic.
- Epic does not have all demographic and insurance information.
Please remember to bring your insurance cards and be prepared to answer questions at
your first appointment. We need to make sure Epic has correct and up-to-date
information.
- You may receive two statements.
If you have an owing balance from services receive before May 1, you will receive a statement from our legacy system. If you have services after May 1, you will receive a statement out of Epic.
- You may sign up for our new patient portal: MyChart.
Our registration staff will ask at one of your first visits if you would like to sign up for MyChart. Through MyChart, you will be able to see your medical information, message your provider, manage your account balance, and much more. There will be more updates coming on the migration to Epic, where we will provide information on how the system will enhance the quality healthcare provided to you here, close to home.
