WE NEED MORE HEROES "INCLUDING YOU!"

That's right. We need more HEROES. Currently we have 54 job openings for more healthcare heroes at West River Health Services (WRHS) and Western Horizons Living Centers (WHLC). We are as challenged as we've ever been, to have enough staffing, allowing us to offer the top-notch healthcare services our area communities have come to expect. We are working every day to try and fill these important positions. But, we need your help.

At the West River Health Services Foundation, we are asking our area community folk to consider becoming heroes themselves - whether it be through coming back to work at West River or Western Horizons, convincing their relatives and/or friends to do so, or considering a $10 or more gift to our New "Healthcare Heroes Endowment Fund."

That's correct, we've started a New Healthcare Heroes Endowment Fund. Our WRHS Foundation has set a goal to raise $500,000 within the next five years. This will allow us to utilize the $25,000 (assuming 5% interest) or more each year going forward, for: 1) academic loans for college upperclassmen pursuing a healthcare degree, and/or 2) signing bonuses for top-priority employment positions at WRHS and WHLC, and/or 3) spot bonuses for current Healthcare Heroes at West River and Western Horizons, and/or 4) reinvest the interest with the principal to build more interest for next year's needs. None of these funds will be used for physicians or administration.

Since this New Healthcare Heroes Endowment Fund is an accredited endowment fund, offered from a qualified 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization (which WRHS Foundation is), then, if you give $5,000 or more to this endowment fund, you can also receive a 40% ND State Tax Credit. This is a win-win for you (tax credits) and for us (growing our Healthcare Heroes Endowment Fund). TOGETHER we can and will make this happen!

In addition, all gifts of $100 or more over one year's time to our New Healthcare Heroes Endowment Fund, also qualify as a Partners In Health Club gift. So by giving to our Healthcare Heroes Endowment Fund, you also become a Member of our Partners In Health Club. This Club has gifted over $620,000 toward needed medical equipment for WRHS and WHLC over the last 20 years. Another win-win for you and for us.

Plus, if you write "Giving Hearts Day" in the memo section of your check, we can also submit your gift for our Giving Hearts Day fundraising effort on February 10, 2022. This could allow us to receive more grants from the Impact Foundation for our efforts. In fact, any gift to WRHSF, no matter where it is placed (hopefully Healthcare Heroes Endowment Fund), or whenever it is given between now and February 10th, can count for Giving Hearts Day.
